Let ‘Impossible’ Be An Invitation To Miracles

Let ‘Impossible’ Be An Invitation To Miracles

May 27, 2020

We all face situations that look ‘impossible. We’ve analyzed all the facts, we’ve thought through all the possibilities and we’ve looked at all the angles - yet we still can’t see a way forward.

In John 16:32-33 Jesus says, “I’ve told you all this so that trusting me, you will be unshakable and assured, deeply at peace. In this godless world you will continue to experience difficulties. But take heart! I’ve conquered the world.”

Take all your ‘impossible’ situations and let Him show you how He is actively planning on bringing about miracles in your life (Eph 3:20-21)

Please Open The Door

Please Open The Door

May 21, 2020
When someone knocks on your front door, you hear the knock (the physical response to the sound), you listen to it (acknowledge that it happened and what it’s requesting) and you heed it (take action - either open it or not).
In Rev 3:20 Jesus is the One Who is knocking at your door. He knows you hear Him and are listening, but it’s your choice to take action - open it and let Him come in, or not.
His promise of #AdventuresWithJesusToday for you? If you decide to let Me in, I will come and spend today with you and do life with you, and you with Me.
Imagine the possibilities!
Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears and listens to and heeds My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will eat with him, and he [will eat] with Me.
Rev 3:20 (AMP)
Jesus is inviting you on an adventure, today. Will you accept?
Don’t Be Afraid, I’m With You

Don’t Be Afraid, I’m With You

May 13, 2020

There are things that make us afraid. Things that are particular to us because of the life experiences we have been through.

- It could be that you were bullied at school and that has made you afraid of speaking your mind in a meeting at work.
- Maybe you’ve had your heart broken and now you struggle to commit to a long-term relationship because you don’t want to get hurt.
- What if you tried really, really hard to achieve something and it failed and now it’s just not worth the effort to try hard again.

These fears are like our own personal ‘valley of the shadow of death’ and that’s not a place we like to go.

There is hope. Jesus promises that even though we will walk through these valleys in our lives, He will go with us.

Psa 23:4
Yes, though I walk through the [deep, sunless] valley of the shadow of death, I will fear or dread no evil, for You are with me; Your rod [to protect] and Your staff [to guide], they comfort me.

The Ability To Get Wealth

The Ability To Get Wealth

April 22, 2020

As I watch the news, and talk to people, the topic of finances and provision almost always find a way into the conversation.

I went, and am on, an adventure with Jesus into the promise in Deuteronomy 8:17-18 and asked Him what it means that He gives us the power and ability to get wealth. He unpacked what the difference is between short term money and long term wealth and showed me 3 parts of the promise that we can believe for:

Wisdom - what to do
Ability - how to do it
Grace - Who is doing it with us

Anchored In Truth

Anchored In Truth

April 1, 2020

I, and a lot of the people I have been talking to, have been feeling the buffeting of the waves at the moment. Those things that threaten to send us down the path of fear and despair are all too 'in our faces' these days.

God woke me up and talked me through the unique opportunity that is available to us right now. He is inviting us into the process of letting Him help us be Anchored in Truth, instead of tossed to and fro by all that is going on at the moment.

Shifting Heaviness with Praise

Shifting Heaviness with Praise

 Shifting Heaviness With Praise

As Christians, who have the privilege of praying for everyone at this pivotal point in history, we can often feel the weight of the world on our shoulders as we watch the news or hear reports of what’s happening with the Corona virus outbreak. This is how I was feeling last week - and it felt really heavy.

As I was talking it through with God, here’s what He had to say and how He turned it all around.

I spoke to a close family member whose medical specialty will put them on the front lines of looking after patients who are very ill - and the facts of their circumstances look dire. As they poured out their heart to me, I could feel the hopelessness and fear in their voice, and it all was all too real. Things don’t look good.

We’re all navigating the balance between wisdom and faith at this time, and so I’ve chosen to get my information from credible sources and keep myself topped up on what God is doing in the midst of it all. But this one hit me for a loop. Now the rubber hits the road for my family. As we finished talking, I felt so overwhelmed with the gravity of the situation that I just burst into tears.

Over the years I have asked Holy Spirit to help me be aware of what is happening in, and around, me. As He made me aware of the weight of the heaviness I was feeling, I began to ask Him what was going on.

“Lord, what's going on? Why, the sudden crying and feeling of despair and hopelessness when I was feeling OK 10 minutes ago?”

As I was thinking it through, Holy spirit brought a scripture to mind that talks about a ‘spirit of heaviness’ - and I knew what was happening! I was experiencing the effects of that heaviness.

I jumped onto Google and typed in ‘spirit of heaviness’ and saw that it referred to Isaiah 61:3. I opened my Bible and saw the answer that He was leading me to. The way to get out from under the heaviness was to replace it with a garment of praise.

I asked, “Lord, what does a garment of praise look like in this situation?”

I remembered that I love to sing along to worship songs, so I went to my playlists and chose two songs that specifically mention the word ‘praise’.

I turned the volume up and with tears coursing down my face, I sang out my praise to God from the bottom of my heart and with all my might.

I sang through my fear.

I sang through my dread.

I sang through my feeling of helplessness.

And, because it’s not possible to sing praises to God and the atmosphere not shift, I found myself with a huge grin on my face by the time I was done.

The facts of the situation were still very real, but the Truth of who my God is, had become my reality.

I found myself in total awe at what God had done for me. The way He had turned my tears into joy and my heaviness into praise, in just 10 minutes.

So, I encourage you to…

  1. Be aware: Ask Holy Spirit to help you be cognizant of what’s going on so that you don’t have to sit under something that’s not yours. Let the posture of your heart be one of relying on Him to help you be aware of all that Heaven has to bring to the situations you’re in. He loves to help!
  2. Talk to Him: God loves it when we ask Him questions, so that we can hear the wisdom of Heaven about a situation. What He has to say about things is way bigger and better than anything we can think of ourselves, so why not take Him up on the invitation to talk it through?
  3. Follow His Leading: Whatever you hear, see, remember or feel as you talk to Him, follow the trail of breadcrumbs that He leaves. You can trust that, because you’re doing this with Him and relying on Him to lead you (Pro 3:5-6), that it’s Him showing you the way.
  1. Take action: Do what you feel led to do and see the astounding power of the Truth bring the reality of Heaven, into your circumstances on Earth.

I bless you with a garment of praise as you navigate this season with the One who loves to do life with you.

[MM] What will you choose?

[MM] What will you choose?

March 21, 2020

I want to introduce you to a pair of pigeons who have been nesting here at our apartment block for a while. You can see that the nest used to be at the top of that pillar, but our landlord has had enough and put bricks up there so that they can't nest there anymore.

As I was praying this through with the Lord and asking Him to help them to find a new place to go, He said to me, "Hey Lisa, these are times when the landlord is telling you that you're no longer staying in the place that you were, you're moving to new places" and it's the same for us as the body of Christ that God has in these unprecedented times, new things for us, new mindsets to believe, new belief systems to step into and to actually step up and show the light of Jesus to the world.

So I encourage you today to spend a little bit of time with Him as you go through your day going, "Lord, what are the new things you're inviting me into? What are the new mindsets that I get to believe? What are the new actions that I get to take? How do I lead and bring light to the world during these times?"

There are amazing adventures ahead for you. So, Jesus is inviting you into an adventure today. Will you accept?

Two nights in a row God has given me dreams that showed how He is inviting the Body of Christ to put Him on display.

In a time when we are being inundated with facts and figures that look dire, He wants to show the world who He is.

His unconditional love.

His power to overcome evil.

His tender loving care.

His abundant provision.

and He wants to show this all to the world, through YOU!
