How To Know What God Wants You To Do

One of the questions we most often ask God is, “God, what do You want me to do?”

It often comes from a place of just wanting to have His guidance and do the things that will light up His face with delight.

Expect God's Goodness

Have you ever ordered something and been so excited to receive it that you are constantly listening for the front doorbell or twitching the curtains to see if the delivery van has arrived?

God was reminding me this morning that we can have that same feeling of delight as we expect to see His goodness each day. David reminds us so beautifully of this in Psalm 27 and gives us real keys to turning situations around that we are dreading and looking at them with a beautiful sense of hope instead.

Chocolate Kisses With God

If you have ever struggled with believing how much God loves you, then I encourage you to listen and share this episode. It’s truly one of the greatest revelations I’ve ever received about God and it’s transforming my day to day. 

There are so many beautiful lessons we can learn from little children. They used to delight Jesus so much that He told us to come to Him like the little children do. 

This weekend we went camping with family and had the privilege of being with our little three-year-old niece and to see how she interacts with the world around her.

Our last day together on the campsite was Easter Sunday and I was so blessed to see a beautiful interaction between this little girl and her Mom. It brought me to tears and revealed the Truth of why God sent Jesus - to bring us back home to Family.

Here’s a clue to what you’ll discover in this episode…there was chocolate milk, kisses and a whole lot of delight involved ;-).

Be Aware Of Your Feelings

Even if you’ve only been a Christian for a little while, you have probably heard something about not letting your emotions have too much of a say in your life. While it is true that we don't get to be ruled by them or even lead our life according to how we feel, there is a vital role that our emotions and feelings play. They are a gift from God and are great indicators to let us know when something is happening in us and around us. 

In this week’s episode I share about learning to pay attention to our feelings and letting them lead us to discerning the spirits (1 John 4:1). This is a great way to be aware of what is going around us on more than just an intellectual level. Our feelings show us when there’s an invitation to partner with Jesus to bring - ‘on Earth as it is in Heaven’

Your invitation to step into more

A friend of mine has been on a leadership journey for about six months. As I have walked with her, I have seen the most phenomenal changes in her life as she takes ownership for not only her own experience of her every day, but how she interacts with others too.

She recently invited me to take the same leadership course and I am being challenged and stretched in ways that are both scary and exciting. As I was talking to through the Lord I felt Him remind me that this is always His invitation to us - to step into the ‘more’. 

I'm not necessarily talking about the ‘more’ as in changing the world - I’m talking about God's constant invitation to more of life with Him.

The invitation for a deeper relationship where our relationship looks more and more like His and Jesus’ did. The invitation to know ourselves and fall in love with ourselves. The invitation to see the beauty in others and enjoy life with each other.

There is so much available and it is His delight to give it to us as we come and ask.

God Needs Your Yes

Isn't that a funny thought? 

We tend to think that God doesn't need anything from us but our gift to Him is saying “yes” to living life with Him, from a place of free will. 

He doesn't force us to do anything - because what kind of relationship would we have if we didn't freely choose to say “yes” to His invitation to loving Him like He loves us?

Romans 12:1 has always wrecked me. It says that we get to surrender to God and give him our “yes’ because of all that He has done for us. When we start from this place of being deeply thankful for all God's mercies, then the natural result is that we want to spend our lives with Him. It becomes our act of worship and, as we give our “yes”, He loves to help us walk at Romans 12:2 every day. 

Becoming transformed in our thinking so that we can know what His plan and purpose is for our life. What a fantastic invitation!

4 Steps To Peace

There are times in all of our lives where we think God is telling us to do one thing…and so we go ahead and we confidently walk in it. Then somewhere down the line we start feeling like God wants us to do something else.

And it can be very anxiety producing, right? 

It looks like we’ve gone ‘all in’ and said, “OK God, I'm going to do what You say to do.” Things feel good and everything is just ticking along nicely.

And then things change, and we aren't quite sure about God changing our direction. 

What does this look like? 

What do I do now? 

Will I be OK in this change?

How do I know if this is good? 

How do I know what He's asking me to do?
