I did some leg and hip exercises this morning and now everything (OK maybe not every thing…), but my hips and lower back hurts!
You know what it’s like – you start exercising your muscles and you sure feel the burn for the next few days right?
But, you keep on going through that pain and discomfort because you want what you’ll get on the other side – a stronger and healthier you! The goal is what keeps you going through the learning process.
Well, what if you set your sights on learning to hear God more clearly? What if ‘developing the muscle’ of having conversations with Him was your goal? (Now THAT is something worth pursuing).
As you watch or listen to today’s episode I’ll share with you how coming to God and asking Him questions the way a little child does, can help you learn to hear His voice more clearly. It’s such a beautiful way to deepen your relationship with Him.

I remember as a new Christian I would write Bible verses on pieces of paper, and put them in my shoes.
Yes, in between the sole of my foot and my shoe, so that I was literally ‘standing on the Word’.
OK, it was a little weird, but it did something deep inside of me that still helps me to this day.
It helped me to be AWARE of God throughout my day (because the piece of paper constantly irritated my foot).
This did something amazing – it caused me to stop and talk with God about whatever was going on at that moment. Ask Him a question. Tell Him how I was feeling. Find out what He was thinking. And it trained my heart to be in relationship with Him, not just pray to Him when I needed something.
It was as if we just spent the day together hanging out. He with me, and me with Him. And that has impacted my life in deep and wonderful ways.
As you watch or listen to today’s episode I give you some tips to how you can develop a relationship with God where you’re aware of Him throughout your day too.

“Knock, knock”
“Who’s there?”
“Jesus, will you let me in?”
Just imagine hearing that Jesus is on the other side of your front door, ASKING you if He can come in and eat with you!!!
OH. MY. GOODNESS!
Well in Revelations 3:20 it says that He is doing just that. Standing at the door of your heart, and knocking. And He is asking to come in and spend time with you.
As we remember this weekend how Jesus voluntarily did the ONLY thing that would bring us back home to our loving Father. He said, “yes” to dying on a cross so that you and I could live our lives on Earth knowing that we are deeply loved.
Knowing that He paid the hardest price to bring us back into the family, makes us think again about answering the door when He knocks and asks to come in and spend time with us, right?
So as you watch or listen to today’s episode remember that saying “yes” to Jesus is the best decision you can ever make.

I’m a big dreamer, but I’d always get scared of dreaming too big in case I was just doing what I want, instead of what God wants. I mean, what if I went off and achieved my dreams and I was totally off God’s path?!?!?
Think of all the goodness of God I’d be missing out on!
Well then one day God bought a beautiful verse across my path.
In Jeremiah 33:3 He says, “Call to Me and I will answer you, and tell you [and even show you] great and mighty things, [things which have been confined and hidden], which you do not know and understand and cannot distinguish.'
Now doesn’t that just blow your mind?
God says that if we’ll call to Him, He will answer us and show and tell us great and mighty things. Can you imagine what it could be like to have God’s vision of things, instead of the small things we can think of?
If we said, “yes” to Him, then we would never have to wonder about His will and we could dream big dreams WITH Him.
As you watch or listen to today’s episode get ready to have your eyes and your understanding opened up to the way God sees things.

“Lisa, I want to break your reliance on your bank account balance, and fix your reliance on Me instead”
As I let that slowly sink in I realized that some of the biggest ‘complaints’ I had towards God, were actually MY own stinkin’ thinkin’ about what His provision looks like.
I remember saying to Him one day how unfair it is that the wealthy can afford to be healthy, housed and fed - while many of the poor can’t.
And what He said next just filled me with His wisdom and understanding about the difference between the earth’s way of doing things vs His Kingdom way.
You see, God is someone who gives us ALL equal opportunities
To be saved,
To be loved and
To be provided for.
He has ALL that we need in order to do what He has for us to do.
The problem is that we don’t access it.
Sometimes because we simply don’t know how.
Sometimes because we don’t believe that he is that good.
Sometimes just because we have more faith in what we know, than in what He’s offering.
As you watch or listen to today’s episode your heart and mind will be amazed at how much the key of faith can unlock for you.

In the midst of my complaining (and frankly – lots of self-pity), Jesus tapped me on the shoulder and reminded me that I definitely wasn’t in a ‘believing God for healing’ mode.
“Ummmmm, You’re right Lord. Thanks for letting me know. Please help me to get back on track again?”
(You know, that’s one thing I LOVE about being a Christian, no matter what we’re going through, Jesus is there to help ALL of us)
So as I sat with Him to get His insight into what happens when we start losing sight of the Truth, I realized that it happens to all of us.
Trust me, you're not alone in that journey! But don’t worry, because we're here to walk alongside you as we dive into those moments when our spiritual connection could use a little extra love

Ever wondered what the word ‘contentment’ really means and how to ACTUALLY live it out?
Me too!
My husband and I were having a (we’ll call it a ‘heated discussion’) one day about why he seems to be so much more contented with life than I do.
“I don’t like it when it seems like God is taking His time”, I said
He quickly countered with, “yes, but He is God and You, Lisa, are not!”
Argh! (of course, he was right)!
But, as Jesus often does, I recognized that I was being invited to shift my perspective away from frustration and towards understanding instead.
So I opened my Bible to Phil 4:11-13 where Paul talks about HOW to live this contented life – and I found a real KEY. It’s so profound that it literally changed my perspective overnight.
Now, when I find myself getting frustrated at something in my life, Holy Spirit will prod my memory and I’ll go back to the Truth in this verse and it brings me peace.
And the beauty of this is that He wants to do the same for you too!

“God, I just want to go and watch my TV programs and not deal with this right now”
I wanted to just tuck my head under a blanket, but I felt Jesus prompting me to come and talk with Him.
With every ounce of willpower, I extended my hand and said, “OK Lord, let’s see what’s happening”
He gently led me through
1. Remembering that He loves me and only points out growth opportunities because of that love
2. It hurts me (and Him), when I’m believing the enemy’s lies and staying stuck because of it
3. There is SO much more to life when I walk it out with Him
So I said “yes” and He helped me to see a lie that I was believing that has kept me small for a long time – and how to swap it for His Truth instead.
And the beauty of this is that He wants to do the same for you too!
you get to learn to hear His voice calling you to the magnificent things He has for your life. And just like Paul said in Heb 12:1-3, you get to throw off the things that hinder and run your race!
