I love standing at the Arrivals Gate at airports. I watch as people wait in anticipation for their person to come out. Wait, wait, wait…there they are!

Seeing the joy as they run to each other and hug and laugh and celebrate being together again brings tears to my eyes every time.

There’s something about being totally wanted, and delighted in, that just makes us feel good right down deep in our heart.

Let yourself go there for a moment. You are totally loved. Adored. Delighted in. And cherished. 

It feel so good right?

Use Your Gifts in a Healthy Way

“God, could You please just turn my brain off for 5 minutes?”

Something had happened that really hurt my heart and a million thoughts seemed to be constantly cycling through my brain without a pause. I was feeling really overwhelmed and all I wanted was a little peace.

The answer God gave me really surprised me.

“Lisa, you’re asking Me to turn off your gift and I won’t do that. How about asking Me how to use your gift in a healthy way instead?”

Now I was intrigued…

“Lord, what do You mean by saying that having a million thoughts on constant repeat is a gift?”

What He unpacked for me next has literally brought so much revelation and understanding into both my own, and my coaching clients’, lives over the years. 

When we can see our gifts through God’s lenses, then we can use them in a healthy way that brings us joy instead of frustration.

Being Content In All Things

If you’re anything like me, then ‘contentment’ can seem like a four-letter word.

My husband and I have debated ;-) the context of Phil 4:11-13, for years!

Because some of us have a naturally content disposition. Some of us (like me), never seem to be content and are always wanting more!

Hence the ‘debating’.

But as I’ve wrestled with God (and my husband) about this concept over the years, I’ve realized that Paul shares a vital key to understanding what TRUE contentment is. And it’s not what we typically think.
